Quick answer: Migros SMS verification is the one-time code Migros Türkiye texts to your phone when you sign up or log in to the Migros app or join the Migros Money loyalty program. Your Money card, points, and personalized discounts are tied to that mobile number, so a Turkish (+90) number is required in practice. If you prefer not to use your personal number, you can receive the Migros code online with a private Turkish virtual number from sms.tc, where available.
What Is Migros (Türkiye) and Migros Money?
Migros Türkiye is one of Turkey's largest supermarket chains, with stores across the country and online grocery shopping through its app and website (migros.com.tr). Migros Money is its loyalty program: members earn Money points and get personalized discounts at checkout by giving their phone number or showing the Money card in the app.
Not to be confused with Migros in Switzerland. This guide covers Migros Türkiye. The Swiss Migros cooperative is a separate company with its own Cumulus loyalty program.
What Is Migros SMS Verification?
Migros SMS verification is the phone check Migros uses to create and secure your account. When you enter your mobile number, Migros sends a short verification code by SMS. Entering the code confirms the number is yours and links it to your Migros Money membership, which is why the number matters more here than in most apps: at checkout, your phone number identifies you.
When Does Migros Ask for a Code?
- Joining Migros Money or creating a Migros account in the app.
- Logging in on a new phone or after reinstalling.
- Changing your phone number or sensitive account details.
- Confirming certain orders or account actions, depending on Migros' security checks.
Which Number Do You Need for Migros?
| Number type | Works for Migros? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Turkish mobile number | Yes | Required in practice for Migros Money |
| Foreign mobile number | Unlikely | Migros Türkiye serves customers in Turkey |
| Free "receive SMS online" sites | Rarely | Public and overused; anyone can read the code |
| sms.tc Turkish virtual number | Yes, in most cases | Carrier-issued +90 mobile number; SMS visible only to you |
sms.tc numbers are carrier-issued mobile numbers rather than VoIP lines, so they work for the Migros code in most cases. Turkish stock changes during the day; check the SMS Activation page for live availability.
How to Get a Migros Verification Code with a Virtual Number
- Create a free account at sms.tc and add a small balance.
- Open SMS Activation and search for Migros.
- Pick Turkey as the country.
- Click Buy Number - a private +90 number is assigned instantly.
- In the Migros app, enter the number on the sign-up, login, or Migros Money screen.
- The Migros code appears on your sms.tc order page, usually within 10-60 seconds.
- Enter the code in the app. Your account is verified.
If no code arrives, cancel the activation and try a new number. You are not charged when no SMS is received.
One-Time Number or Rental Number?
| One-time activation | Rental number | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Verifying once | Using Migros Money over time |
| Validity | About 20 minutes | Days to weeks, renewable |
| Codes for later logins | Not guaranteed | Yes, while the rental is active |
| Price | From a few cents | Higher, billed per period |
Because Migros Money identifies you by phone number at the till and in the app, a short-lived number is a poor fit for an account you plan to use regularly. Choose a rental number or your own number for long-term use.
Migros Code Not Received? 6 Fixes
- Check the number - 10 digits starting with 5, without the leading 0.
- Wait a minute before requesting a new code.
- Update the Migros app to the latest version.
- Check SMS spam or blocked senders on your own phone.
- Try again later after several requests in a row.
- Use a fresh number - cancel and buy another Turkish number on sms.tc.
If you still have trouble on your own line, contact Migros customer services through the app or migros.com.tr.
Use Virtual Numbers Responsibly
Migros Money discounts, welcome offers, and points are meant for one membership per person. Use a virtual number to protect your personal number, not to create several memberships to collect the same offers repeatedly. Migros can cancel points and benefits obtained against its program terms.
